Hi Ben35,

I have had intermittent issues w/my 2003 G35 Sedan high mount lamp. I have successfully removed the light (drilled a 1/2 in hole in the trunk to get at the screws, which wasn't very hard) and now am deciding on how to fix it. I'm guessing I need a new solder joint or new LEDs but this is something I want fixed and to move on and not look back. I'm in N. Texas. If I sent you the board would you fix it?

Yeah, I can fix it. I've done it for a number of members here so far. It's no so much of a fix as it is a replacement.

6 speed G35 sedan
I know this is an old thread but now that those of us in Texas now need to have the 3rd brake light working to pass inspection I thought I'd share what I did.

Purchased a replacement through Parts Geek (around $100) and looked through the forums and YouTube for how to remove it from the sedan. The easiest seemed to be drilling a hole though the two layers of sheet metal under the passenger side screw. But my drill kinda sucks and you really need a good half inch bit to give ample clearance. So once I undid the driver's side screw, I just moved the whole assembly back and forth until I broke the mount on the other side and the whole thing came out easily. Took maybe 2-3 minutes? Put the new one in, tightened the driver's side screw, seems pretty secure. If it ends up moving around on me, I can always duct tape that side in place.

I have a base sedan so no sub in the way, but it doesn't look like it would really make a difference. But if you want a quick, fast solution to what can be a huge PITA, this works. Fast.

If you guys still have the broken housings and wiring harnesses, I would be interested in them. I've had a post up for a long time for it: https://g35driver.com/forums/lights/...ake-light.html
