Cool Custom Headlights question

Hey guys wondering what it takes to get a clean headlight look specifically the side markers/clearance.. I've been searching but all I seem to come up with is the tacky LED strip. Don't like the look, way too ricey. Im looking for a headlight setup similar to this

Lmk thanks!

The lights in your picture appear to be OEM 03-05 headlights with overlays or custom painted. The side markers look like they are aftermarket clear corners with LEDs... in my opinion the OEM JDM clear corners are the way to go.

They are not LEDs. It is called a CCFL that is retro fit into the headlight. Very cheap and simple modification. You can buy cheap 12" CCFL lights from svc.
http://www.svc.com/clk12.html

Basic steps
- Heat headlight in oven to open
- Remove clear plastic from clearance strip
- Take bandsaw or dremel and remove the excess plastic to allow CCFL to fit
- Mount CCFL in metal clearance strip with silicon
- Wire it all up
- Reassemble headlight.

It use to be a very popular mod years ago before the 06 projector lights become so popular.

The corners are dual LED strips. One white as normal and one amber as a turn. Similar to this one except he did two ambers as normal

Anyone know of a good way to get the corner lights apart and back together? They seem to be plastic welded and I want to get them apart so I can put led strips or custom cut and assemble a circuit board to fill the housings evenly. I have a few ideas but someone with experience would be better.

Epoxy or plastic welder are the only ways. Epoxy is much easier.

You can also get everything necessary from a vendor here.

Any pictures of the CCFL in the off state and in the daytime? I want to see how you would see the long bar. Also can you elaborate on the corner LED strips

Off state in daytime, the look exactly like normal 03-04 headlights. The ccfl is not visable under the clearance strip.

There are DIYs on here I'm sure. You basically cut the seam with a dremel, silicon in some led strips, use epoxy to reseal the light, wire it up.

Here is a set of ccfl clearance strips I did on my first G35 during the day.

What did you use to "clear" the turn signal in the light housing?

The amber is part of the housing, you need to use a dremel and cut it out. You can buy clear plastic sheets at Home Depot or just leave it open.
