So I bought some cheapo "High Power" back up lights. They looked cool but did not light anything. The brake lights gave more visibilty. They were listed on ebay as 3watt 7 SMD LED, 210 lumen, 6000k (http://www.ebay.com/itm/290736044192...S:3160&vxp=mtr)
I have neighbors that walk in the dark at buttass early. I am afraid one day I will back into them because they are old and won't see me coming. This is the cheapos directly from behind.
This is the cheaps projecting onto my garage door at 10 feet, ya hard to see anything.
This is the same door, same distance with only 1 Phillips Vision and 1 cheapo.
The next 2 pics are with the Phillips in the driver side and cheapos in the passenger side.
Next 2 pics are both bulbs being Phillips, same garage door.
This is the bulb itself, notice how they use 2 LED arrays and a conical reflector.
I am typically a cheap a$$, so I was hesitant to spend $20 for these. I am glad I did. Also I got them for $10 at pep boys but it took a coupon and politeness, so YMMV.
your first problem was the ebay lights were only 210 lumin. My blinker lights in my last rig were 800 lumin lol. 500 and below is basically just for side markers. enough to light up, but not enough to project light.

I agree. My mistake was buying Chepbay. I was overtaken by fancy words like "Super Bright".
