Replacement housing/headlights for 2003 G35 Coupe

Hi,

After I don’t know how many years, my headlight have failed on my 2003 G35 Coupe. 19 years ago when I first got this car I had tint put over the headlight housings. Of course it now looks like crap so I need to replace those as well.

any suggesting a on best housing/ballast/headlights combo. Looks are ok, functionality is more important. Amazon is very easy for me to use if they have something that will work well. High beams still work, just the headlights are shot.

Get a 35 watt HID kit from DDM Tuning or from Amazon. They will work just as good as the OEM. You might have to wire it up using a relay though. Mine were having issues lighting up using the stock wiring.

If u dont wanna deal with all that stuff though, just get some replacement OEM ballasts. It could also be that the ballasts are fine but the bulbs are bad.

How did the headlights stop working?

Did they both go out at the same time? If so I would suspect a fuse blew.

only one stopped working. I just figured it’s best to replace both lights since it’s a chore to replace one.

One just stopped working. I suspect just the headlight. The car is 19 years old and it’s only the second time I’ve had to replace the bulbs.

Swap the lamps from one side to the other, that way you can verify what actually went out. If the lamp still won't work then swap the ballasts from one side to the other.

Whatever component did fail, whether lamp or ballast, replace BOTH. They both tend to go out at roughly the same time (within a few months).

Thank you everyone for the advice. I went with Amerilites on Amazon. Around $300 shipped. Took them to my mechanic who installed without much issue. I don’t know what main bulbs they used(it came with all the other bulbs)….they’re halogen. Anyway car looks much nicer, the lights are very white in color which I’m happy about.
