Re: HID bulbs on stock ballast...
yea, you should be able to do that. i was asking around earlier too cuz i wanted to do the same thing. but puttin a higher kelvin bulb doesn' t necessarily mean that you'll get a brigher output. the color will be more blue, but the lumens actually decrease from something like 2800 to 2300, i think. not quite sure on the numbers, but i looked into it and they decrease, so it's not as bright in reality but it might appear brighter because of the color.

I know... just like the bluish tint of the higher kelvin bubls, even though the stock is probably going to be brighter....
btw, I saw a S2000 HID today.... man are those things blinding..... I wouldn't say they provide better view of the road, but they looked VERY PRETTY!!!

Also keep in mind that the "nice" looking HIDs are all from cars with a projector in front of the bulb. It looks much better with projectors, but unless you are willing to mod your stock headlamps, you won't get that quite same effect as Audi's, Bimmers, the S2000, and the new Benz's.

The 6000K look nice. I would recommend the Phillips Ultinon bulbs. They are the best but also a little more than the cheaper Taiwanese bulbs. I have pics comparing the two which I posted somewhere. I think it was on the Fresh Alloy forum though.
