Stopped by Cop for Hyper White LED in Clearance Strip!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I was stopped by a cop for having the Hyper White LED's in my clearance strip. He said that they were blue and it is illegal to have blue lights on the front of the car. I told him that I was aware of that and that they were not blue. We went back and forth for awhile before he left (in the middle of me arguing with him). I told him that if he was going to make me take them off then I would do it. He said that he wouldn't "make" me take them off, but I would get a ticket if he saw me again.

So I decided to go yellow all around (clearance and side markers). So I bought some PIAA Plasma Ion Yellows off of eBay and just put them on. Here are a couple pic for anyone interested.

If I had white LEDs in there, and cop tried to give me a ticket for having blue lights, I'd let him. Then I'd show up to court with the LED's, and show how they aren't blue. Maybe I should keep an extra set in the glove box, just to show the cop they aren't blue....

I haven't gotten pulled over with my PIAA Super White LED's (knock on wood) and I've passed plenty of cops (NYPD, Nassau County PD, Fort Lee PD, Palisades Park PD, Edgewater PD). I'm not saying that New York/New Jersey is lenient with this but I don't think cops around my area really care about it much. However I'm sure there are those ******** cops who have to fill their quotas and what not and may have no other reason but that to pull you over for it. Here's how mine look:

they can't do much about the clearance light if its blue but they can be a dick about the corners.

The reason they look blue is because the headlights look to be more yellow. If the HIDs were "whiter," he would not have pulled you over. If you look only at the clearance strip itself, it doesn't look blue at all.

State

I am in the Cleveland, OH area. Yeah, I didn't care if he gave me a ticket (and that is why I would even bother arguing with him at all) because it wasn't a moving violation. I have the "get out of jail free" cards from my father-in-law (who is a retired cop) so that probably helped also. But he still pressed the issue no matter how many times I told him that they didn't look blue TO ME. So he was probably having a bad day or something. I always try to obey the law though and therefore I changed the lights. I think I like switching it up every once in awhile anyways.

BTW, the cop wasn't interested in my side markers (which had the same bulb as the clearance lights). Those apparently didn't appear blue to him. He physically pointed out the clearance strip to me (after he ordered me out of the car to look at them). So it probably is like someone posted that it was simply the color difference that made him think it was blue.

Hmm...I'm actually thinking of Hyper Yellow too now that I've seen the pictures. Really, I like to be different the yellow looks nice. It can't be kinda yellow but has to be really yellow. This way, you will be different
