LED Daytime Running lights Question

I was thinking about doing this but i read somewhere that the lights were going to burn out in a month or two? How is this possible if the fog lights arent turned on? The person that posted that thread said that the heat form the fogs cause it to burn what if we dont even turn it on?

not sure about this, but if you're in Canada, the fogs in Canadian model act as daytime running. Of course, in the night, they're off with the low beams on and the city-lights takes over as "always running" lamps.

Here are some pix of my recent city-lamps mod to match the xenons, they're conventional bulbs and not LED because of the problems I've experienced with LEDs (blinking, burning out).

1st city with low
2nd city with low with fogs

sry for sub-par quality, it's with camera phone, and lamp housing is dirty lol. but as you can see, conventional bulbs can match well and looks good too.

If you want to have LED powered daytime running lights you will need VERY bright LEDs. The only thing I can think of that could do this is Luxeon Star or Nichia Moon surface mount LEDs.
