Less amber on my G35

I have an 05 coupe, and like many others I REALLY dont like the amber circles on my headlights, and like many others I cant afford to buy 06 headlights, at least not yet.

So I did a mod on the lights, when i turn on the headlights, the amber circles dont turn on, but they still blink when i signal (with headlight on or off) . This way i dont have any amber lights on, at least at night. It looks clean, I think 06 could use this quick mod as well to make their cars look even cleaner at night as well.

I was just gonna take out the bulbs, but I like to have a functional blinker, especially with cops around.

Gonna take some pics tonight, will post soon.

I just installed 7440 bulbs with one filament. Had to grind two little tabs off the socket of the bulb, but now it works the same way as yours.

Oh, and I also did this.

Whoever owned my car before did that. Im not sure if he replaced the bulbs, or what, but I only get amber for the blinker, no running lights. I was planning on pulling the lights tomorow to change the headlight bulbs, I'll have to see. I REALLY hope he didnt just snip the wire....

I left my camera at friends house, it had some pics in it of the process. I will probably get it back friday. It is really easy to do, its just easier to explain with pictures.

BTW Curt G, did you bake the headlight to open it? Any fogging?

Yep, baked them. I had them apart for a Demon Eyes install. Still finalizing that so no pictures yet. Follow the sticky about how to break them open if you do. The key is to just leave all the factory glue in place, because it's heat activated and there's plenty to seal it again when you put it back together. I haven't had any fogging, and there have been a few decent rains since I finished them earlier this month.
