technically it is a "MOD"... coming from the word "MOD"IFIED....

mod·i·fy ( P ) Pronunciation Key (md-f)
v. mod·i·fied, mod·i·fy·ing, mod·i·fies
v. tr.

if you were handy with a dremel, I don't see why you couldn't shave off the round reflector brake lights, and replace them some leds (in a circle arrangement of course, though I guess you could go with a triangle, or perhaps a tasteful bit of isosceles). Rewire the plugs from the square leds to the newly made circle led arrangement, and call it a day. Then, if you were super cool like me, you could shave out the square led arrangement, and put a set of HID's in it's place, and luminously pwn tail gaters.

Or you could reward them by having a set of nice LCD tv's playing educational programs, like Barney and Friends, or Bukkake: a Painful History.

anyways, disregarding all that other stuff, the new circle arrangement should be doable, and you could simply frankenstein all the existing wiring to do so.

And I agree that this would be a mod. You are modifying the tailight's initial state. Its kinda like saying to someone that removes their passenger seat for weight reduction - "Thats not a mod, its just a removal." Just my opinion.

ok something new i just did to the taillight, i manage to have the square led lit up when braking. so now both circle and square lights comes on while braking and circle lights only lit up when parking light is on. looks real good.
wasnt as easy as i thought but wasnt that hard either. it does require some cutting and spicing, rewiring a few wires. if anyone is interest i will post a diy, however there are no pictures tho.

Ghetto, let me get this straight. You are cutting more than half of your brake light output. You call it a modification?! It looks like your brake lights are broken.
