ummm you just need some standard LEDs and resistors. i forget what ohm though. i wrote a quick diy earlier. it can be done in about a day.
Take apart interior of car and free speedometer
Sand interior surface of the speedometer face (its got an orange layer) without removing needles
Remove all bulbs from the speedometer unit
Squeeze two sanded down LEDs and a resistor into each original bulb housing
Aim the LEDs so that one points into the prism that refracts light to the needles
Create a diffuser to slip in behind the speedometer face to prevent hotspots from the LEDs
Put everything back together and pray nothing went wrong.
