07 M35 Bluetooth Issues

Hi Guys,

I am a 07G owner, but I have a customer of mine who owns a 07M and is having some bluetooth issues.

He has a Blackberry 8800 and what happens is the Bluetooth (BT) stops working in the car (and with all other devices) and it turns yellow instead of green on the phone. When this happens there is nothing we can do to make it work again. He only uses BT in the car and with nothing else.

So I got him a brand new Blackberry and it was fine, but now the problem has happened again on the new phone. So today I got him yet another phone so I was wondering if the M is the problem?

In my G with my Blackberry it is fine. I am totally lost here and I have other customers with Blackberry 8800 and they are fine with BT but they do not have Infinitis

Any ideas or help is welcomed

did you check the Bluetooth settings on the phone, I have 2 blackberry's on my M, both work fine. Make sure the settings are on Discoverable.

Also when the M starts up it sends a message to the phone asking for permission to connect, there is an option saying, "do not ask me again", maybe he checked that option and clicked no. After that you have to manually push phone to connect

No the Bluetooth actually breaks all together on the phone and this has happened two times now! I have contacted at&t and tried everything only option was to replace the phone.

I was wondering if it's a M issue it is just really strange.

M's are terrible with respect to Bluetooth functionality. I just had the microphone relocation and NEW bluetooth unti installed and it still doesn't work very well with the the folks on the other end of the line. LOTS of road noise. There may be a setting for this but I have not found it.

What's this "microphone relocation"?

I'm wondering if anyone with a G has re-positioned their mic to get better performance?

There's a kit for the 2006-2007 and some 08 M's to relocate the mic closer to the driver, between to the sun-visor and map lights.

Sounds like it was a TSB and some are saying the problem is still there:

If I have to cut the roof liner I don't think I want to mess with this.
