'08 JDM Nissan Fuga (Infiniti M) Gets HR Motors, Paddle Shift etc...

US buyers get jacked once again. Here's a shot of the paddle shifters. And yes that's an M steering wheel for all the doubters out there.

Other things the Fuga gets that the US market M does not is Infiniti's scratch shield paint introduced on the EX, piano black interior wood trim offered as standard on the EX but still not available here on the M which has been available in Japan since the '06 Fuga's debut, and of course the aforementioned VQ25HR and VQ35HR motors. The 2.5L would never make it here but unfortunately for US buyers, they get a carryover 275hp Gen III VQ under the hood of the '08 M while Japanese buyers get the G Sedan's (Skyline) VQ35HR motor probably good for the same 306hp in the Fuga. Notice the front mounted dipstick in the shot below.

The '08 Fuga also has the passenger side blind spot camera mounted under the left hand side view mirror that's available on the JDM G37 (Skyline 370GT Coupe) as well as a new premium leather interior option with a crocodile pattern on certain surfaces. The Bourbon interior has been dropped in the US and it appears to have been replaced in Japan by this new Semianilian leather interior, however this new interior is NOT available on the US market M.

The '08 Fuga also features Nissan's new Distance Control Assist which like their Intelligent Cruise Control system which applies the brakes to keep a preset distance between you and the vehicle in front of you, applies the accelerator to do the same as well. Again...not available here in the US.

Isn't the dipstick on the 08s in the front of the engine or are they buried in that impossible to reach side spot like the 06 and earlier G35s?

Only HRs have them up front. But the US market '08 M has the VQ35DE. Only the '08 Japan Market Fuga gets the new VQ35HR.

I don't understand why it is that (sometimes) Euro models, and now, some JDM vehicles are equipped with little luxuries, sporty additions that the U.S. market doesn't receive.

So what about the new 35 or 37 and the 7speed for 2009 model?

The G-guys are getting jealous of the European spec G, and I think someone made a good point that it wouldn't be coming to the US as it would steal M35 sales.

But the new 35 or 37 and the 7speed would re-gap the M over the G, right?????

Well the M is also a Nissan in Japan, and still gets more amenities and nicer things than the US Ms. Look at the piano black trim. That's hot.

what's the big deal with paddle shifters? the '09 m45 still have the crummy 5 speed auto. it doesnt even shift that fast. i just leave mine in auto mode all the time. this isnt SMG.

Add a shift kit like I just did and it shifts fast like lightning
