T.D. exhaust for my M

As promised here's my b4 and after of my M's exhaust. It's freer flowing, and has slightly more rumble which I like. Power wise it's hard to say. Judgeing by the restrictive OEM piping, I may have picked up a few ponies and tq. I like that too.
All done at my friendly neighbourhood exhaust fabricators. They made it look OEM, didn't take long to do it, and didn't charge me an arm and a leg. I like that most.

B4 the mod:

After in next post--

And finally the double Y they took out. I saved it just in case.
Dayne & Sid missed me all day and had to squeeze into the pic.

That's a good question. I was told at one point that the small collector was needed to keep torque #'s high. But I don't believe it. They just used the same unit as the one on the VQ instead of making a new one.
It must work better, but haven't really pushed it yet anyway.....still breaking it in.

After install, (reload pics)

I will vouch for the sound difference, I heard Colin's system before and I heard the new one last night. Definitely a deeper sound when he and his M disappeared into the sunset last night. Sounds good C.
Also the C.F B pillars look even better in person, especially when the bright sun is shining on them.

Nothing beats the sound from a dual exhaust V8

Shane,
Yes Dayne does look like he's blowing me a raspberry for being away all day. They love their Grandma (my Mom) but miss me the most.. They went bonkers when I came in the door last evening........always a nice welcome home...

From what I understand, Nissan puts the same exhaust on the VQ equipped M's instead of having a higher flow unit for the VK.
I think it may have been slightly restrictive for the 8..
As far as the cams and other major mods, sure it would be nice but warranty is important. I better not go too crazy. It could 'expensive'.
But thanks for the encouragement.

Wayne,
So nice to see you, K., and Meg again of course. You live in such a lovely area, it's hard to resist, and well worth the drive.
Appears that more is noticeable outside the M than inside. ONly slightly more rumble can be heard from the D/S.
I haven't opened it up yet, but I'm expecting change in sound there too. We'll see.

Hey bro, yes there's nothing like the lure and rumble of a healthy V-8, can't wait to show you at the next meet. (which I hope is soon.. )
How's the 'dash work' going....smoothly I hope.

We'll have to plan a get together soon b4 holiday season sets in and most go away on vac.
Can't wait for everyone to see the new C/F B-pillar panels, and see and hear the exhaust too.

I must say Ian, you have ballz ripping your dash apart like that . The end result will be great though.
I told Karen you were installing your Nav and she was keen to have Nav put in her car, then I showed her the pics of one of the other members installs with the centre console apart . Then she said "Oh Nevermind" .

My wife just walks into the garage, shakes her head &

OMG That sounds really scary. Your beautiful car gutted on the inside.
Hehe, I can just picture P walking in the garage, and rolling her eyes at your handywork . But we all know it will end in a perfect job as all your other mods have.
