New to the forum. Am interested in purchasing a used M45 Sport. There are a couple advertised locally. Neither one has any kind of "Sport" badging. I thought I remembered seeing a Sport badge on the back of a G or M car. Is it just the G that has the Sport badge or is it later year Ms? It also curious that one of the cars advertised as a Sport has the wood trim on the dash rather than the aluminum. Is that possible? Could you opt for wood trim on a Sport model?
Thanks for any help.

@ Fred.

I do not think the M has any sport emblem. I think one of the ways to tell is if the M has the 19" wheels and the trunk spoiler lid thingie.

I want to also introduce myself. I have had my 04 G35X which I will be handing down to my dad this year. His Explorer is about to kick the bucket and well he needs a car to help my mom and stuff. Since they are both only working part time they cant afford a car. Lucky my I just graduated from College this past Dec 2009 and I will be starting my new Job as a Control Systems Engineer on 2 weeks. Salary is awesome and well I will be on the market for an M35/M45 this spring. So i went to the dealers in the area and I saw a M35x which I did not test drive. I did test drive the M45 and I hate myself for doing that. Now I think no matter how nice the M35 is, I will end up wanting the M45. Gas consumption is roughly the same for both so I am going for the M45. What a gorgeous car, and it feels so sporty it is not even funny. Do not get me wrong, I love the G35x and thats why I want to keep it in the family but the M45 is just sex on wheels.

Just purchased a 2007 M45 Sport with 21000 miles to replace my 2006 6MT coupe. Going to miss the coupe which was a great car. The M has been great so far, exactly what the doctor ordered for my commute and it feels almost as quick as my slightly modded G. I like the dual personalities of the car, super smooth when you want it to be, pretty fun when you want it to be.
The mileage as expected is pretty bad. I'm seeing mid 16s in mixed driving, regardless of how I drive. That's about 3mpg less than I was seeing in the G. Needless to say, spending a bit more time at the pumps. Still, in my opinion, the V8 is the way to go. I know they burn some oil. Yet, I can't think of a better Infiniti motor.

So far, I've installed the USA Spec Ipod adaptor which works very well by the way. My car came with the Sport Tech package, though Sirius wasn't installed so that's coming to.
I also ordered a set of Megan axle backs, so as to enhance the exhaust note on this thing. While I could have gone for more, power, certainly I can order the mid-pipes later, wasn't really concerned about adding power. May do a light tint, we'll see. Trying to limit the add-ons this time around.

I'm completely new to these forums and also am fairly new to owning an M. I got mine Christmas of 2010 and love it! Its a 2006 M35 sport that is black on black and has roughly 31,000 miles. I'm interested in doing some additional work to it but don't have the money to go completely overboard with some of the stuff I see other people putting into there cars. Could anyone give me some basic ideas that I could do to add a little bit more power to the car in general? Thanks.

currently own an 05 g35 coupe, however with the addition of our first child just recently im thinking of trading up when i return from iraq. i will be honest i am torn between the lexus 460 and the m45. any pertinant issues with the m45? how difficult are the upgrades such as amps and screens? i added some jl audio to my factory bose no problem but it appears theres a bit more technology in the m45 versues the g's.

A little late to this conversation, but.... lol

Yes, 2008's - 2010's have a revised Sport Model and it does have an S to signify the package.

And just sold my coupe and purchased a 2008 M45 Sport, Black on Black with Advanced Tech Package

Pic at Dealer. Will add my own later:

I bought my '06 OB G35x two years ago. My wife got her '05 OB Maxima new. Of course she now loves the G so I can see some form of M in our future. Probably an X model for the NE winters.

I'm a ex-G owner (just sold it, and im incredibly sad. Blast this economy, I will have another one someday!), but my mother is looking to buy a car and I'm trying to steer her away from a BMW 3/5 series and MB E-class and into an M.

I might actually start a thread on this as I need some ammo to convince her what a mistake she might make :P.
