I just received my escort 8500 radar and I can't wait to put it in my G The question is, do I have to set up anything on the radar? Or just leave all the configuration at default ? Since I believe a radar is legal in my state, I wont need to hide the radar from the police and I will put it right above the middle dashboard. Any bad experiences regarding this location ? Where is the most ideal place to install a radar?

I place my 8500 above and just to the left of the rear mirror. It has a great view from behind and towards the front. I then lift the cord over the mirror and down to the passenger power outlet. Works great. Difficult to see from outside the car too.

I have that same setup "myg" but i've noticed that the chord lays against the dash and is starting to rub away the finish! I don't know what to do about this. It's definataly noticable...i think i'm going to hard wire the radar...but man the Escort is great...it's saved me many times. Good luck
