Does 2007 g35x have strut mount bearing??
Hi,
I have a g35x 2007 and just received my package for my strut remplacement.
I ordered 2 front strut (monroe oes spectrum) and 2 strut mount (KYB SM5733).i chose this strut mount because on rockauto it was the only one that fit the sedan version. When i opened the pack the mount is without bearing and i am asking you guys if 2007 g35x has strut mount bearings and if yes where can i find only the bearing ?
Tanks
Here are some pictures of what i got in the mount package :

I have the same strut mount and it doesn't come with a bearing. Have KYB shocks/ struts as well as front and rear mounts, and as best as I can tell either a) bearing is a part of the strut assembly or b) absent altogether. I plan to call KYB to get an answer whether G35 strut mount has to have a bearing (per KYB, bearings are not necessarily going to be present in all strut assemblies:

Ok, confirmed - our strut mounts do NOT come with bearings. See KYB response below:

Thank you for contacting KYB. We appreciate this opportunity to assist you. In regards to your question:
Do the strut mounts come with the bearings?
Many do, but only when the strut mount is also the steering pivot. The bearing is a wear item and affects the steering response as well as wheel alignment. See the KYB catalog for application part number and a picture of each item.
It does not appear we list the bearings for this vehicle.

That's correct, if you look at the steering knuckle it pivots completely independent of the strut, the upper control arm has one ball joint, the compression arm has the lower ball joint and the knuckle turns on those two joints.
On a "macpherson strut suspension" you don't have an upper control arm and the strut attaches directly to the top of the steering knuckle, the strut itself pivots with the steering and thus requires a top bearing.
