Ok,

Just got the oil change at the dealer and they said one of my bushings in the rear subframe is going so I need to replace it. In fact they have to replace the complete subframe since the bushings are pressed into it.

So it is about $1000 to change out the subframe with the part(I think it was $4-500 for the subframe)


Anyone else do this yet on their G35? Anyone filmilar with this problem with our cars?

Does anyone know where I can get a used one instead of buying new or who sells parts wholesale?

I don't know a darn thing about the rear subframe but that sounds fishy. Why cant they press out the bushing and press in a new one?

 

The bushing for the diff is not sold as in individual part. To replace the bushing you would need to pull the subframe down anyways to press it out and press a new one in.

I've seen 4-5 people need to replace this when the bushing blew. It will leak fluid out of the bushing, eventually it will have no fluid left in it.

There is a solid bushing option, but this would require the rest of the diff bushings to be solid as well. Would theoretically allow more vibration and noise to transfer to the cabin.

I am interested in the solid bushing. Do you know where I can get that part. I don't mind the extra vibration and am I sure it will last longer than the oem that can leak out fluid.

Comes with an adapter to hammer the solid one in. An overly stiff suspension or incorrect suspension set up can do it too.
