Hello All, this if my first post here. Ive been lurking for a while since ive been considering buying a g35 sedan and last week I made the jump. Picked up a 04 g35x with only 60000 miles on it. I needed a car to replace my 08 altima that had been modified to the point where it was a pain to drive on the daily.

This brings me to my question, since ive had the car ive noticed a rattling noise coming from the y pipe area. And within the last couple days there has been a droning noise coming from the car below 2000 rpms (i want to say its a tiny exhaust leak but we will see), part of me wants to just pick up a new y pipe and replace it myself, 130 bucks for a Walker y pipe and an hour of my time later, Ill be sitting pretty. I prefer to fix things myself. However after reading the sticky of the g35x needing a specific y pipe to clear the transfer case, I found this:

The walker y pipe 50345. My question is that I am not really trying to UPGRADE my y-pipe. Just replace it and I am having a very hard time finding a replacement in decent condition. Is this Walker y pipe an upgrade? I dont need more noise or anything of the sort. my altima is loud enough ,this is my quiet grown up car. If any one has had experience with this it would be appreciated, my assumption is that this WILL clear the transfer case but I really want to know if anyone else has played with this product yet?
