motordyne tdx2 cracked muffler.

I bought a tdx at a good price and either from member or it arrived to me cracked like this. Has anyone dealt with this problem before? I would think any shop or wielder should be able to fix this pretty cheap right? Do you think I should stay away from a place like midus or just find someone with knowledge and pay them.(not really worried at the why/ when they cracked.)

While I am at it my art pipes seem to rasp with my current xyz hf cat and stock exhaust. I kind of felt like my heat shield had something to do with it so when I am mucking about I will test them and replace with a different kind of heat shielding if it helps. I am hoping the swap to the tdx and replacement of the heat shields will help. One heat shield is just about touching the art pipe.

that a super easy job for a good welder to fix. just make sure they know the differences in welding stainless when you ask them about the job.

it looks like its cracked from getting bounced off the ground and not from heat and cooling cycles or tension.

There's a bolt above the ART pipe that needs to be shaved down, don't forget about that. Although I'm sure you'd hear it and be annoyed of it by now.
As for the rasp, I'd say wait til the TDX2 is in. Because your XYZ is a 3" outlet, and the stock mid-pipe is a smaller diameter. When you're suddenly go smaller like that it produces rasp. I have the same issue as you except my Y pipe is stock.

Thanks, I figured the bottle neck might be part although it seems further up. I hear some say they have rasp others not when paired with the stock and xyz. I believe Tony has said as much mine just feels extra loud, perhaps because it is mine and that's all I seem to hear/worry about. What I think, is that this was my first time doing something like that and there probably needs to be some adjustment. I have lived with it for a while now,but I finally got sick of it and upgraded to the tdx. Granted I could have reinstalled my arts and fix my heat shield before but with two jobs and school it was not a priority. Now that I have a tdx in my garage it is absolutely a priority or so I justify to my gf. I am throwing my cats back on for smog and then putting my arts then tdx. I think I will do the jobs separate just so I can find out for sure. My left side art pipe is very close to my heat shield so while I am doing the switch I might just move things around or replace heat shield with other appropriate insulation. The rasp/clank is pronounced at certain spots so when the engine moves in certain ways the heat shield it might touch my driver side art pipe.

I did shave the bolt, I have good clearance there. Where I lack good clearance is driver side at the bend of the art pipe. I did some fiddling but only got the heat shield to move slightly. I suppose I will find out shortly.
