***Updated 7/12/08***FINALLY...took some pics of the G

Fellow G'ers, I'm fairly new to the site and have been surfing it a lot lately looking at all the nice work done by you guys that I felt guilty for not sharing any pics. Seems like a really tight bunch of guys willing to help out each other. So, with that being said, I finally had a chance to go outside and take some snapshots of the G. I have an 06 LP Coupe 6MT that I bought brand new back in November of 05 in Virginia Beach.

I now live in Corpus Christi, Texas which blows because the roads are crap down here. I've posted some pics of the rims I used to have beside the car. Both driver side rims were victims of some potholes down here and the front rim was bent and the rear was cracked down the center 3/4s all the way around. What happened was I was driving down a 2 lane road at night in a 45 MPH zone and the guy in front of me was doing 30. I went to pass and they just repaved the road there and didn't sandblast down the asphalt...so there was a mini speedbump. I should've just been patient and not have passed, but too late. Anyways, both tires went completely flat with the TPMS illuminating immediately and me almost fishtailing in a ditch...good times!!

I'm now completely bone stock (and boring in my opinion.) Been driving stock rims for the past 2 months and HATING life!!! I like standing out in the crowd as I'm sure you all do...come on, we're G drivers. The only things I have done to this car are the clear corners, replaced all interior and license plate lights with LEDs, 20% tint around, and the Borla exhaust. I am open to any suggestions on some mods that I can do. I know for a fact I want some new wheels...aggressive offset, either Volk GTS mercury silver or titanium gunmetal...or any suggested by you guys (waaaaaaaay tired of driving around stock!!!), a drop, and a new exhaust. Thanks for checking out the thread and leaving any comments or suggestions. By the way, I'm selling my stock exhaust and Borla exhaust as well. Please check out that thread and post a comment or PM me for additional info. Thanks.

Mike

**** or BACKSIDE....?

Hmmm, let's see is **** a word? Maybe on a horse in Texas/Oklahoma/New Mexico but not on your G35 Coupe.... I remember now the saying was
"Don't be a horses ****!" RIGHT? All kidding aside, you have a very nice
coupe and I love the old wheels. Yea, you need new wheels. Have you
seen the GT-Ms, they would look great on your car! G/L

I'm not sure what brand your wheels were, but Volk is a good choice for a next wheel. Everything else looks good man. Alot of people go with tein for springs also. If the roads are pretty bad consider some 350z h techs or s techs for a slightly larger drop.

thanks for the compliments on the "nice wheels", but i'm running stock 19s right now. i'm thinking of going either with mercury silver or titanium gunmetal volk gt-s or work vs-xx's...that is if surf sells them to me. i definitely want to drop it with wheels...but i want to make sure i get the right ones since it's a lot of $$. maybe some taillight overlays and an hks high power exhaust...any suggestions???

Sbeck....I'm still a noob with the springs, drop, camber kit, sways, and all that. i was told that the tanabe df-210's were pretty good as well...but what do i know. and thanks for the compliments on the car...all i know is i HATE riding stock!!!

Hey Gator,

Man sucks to hear about your old rims. I would definitely go ahead and get the Volks or SSR's to be different (i'm biased b/c i have those..hahah)

Since you're a noob to the whole drop thing check out the Stickies in the Suspension forum to get a little bit of insight. Now with that being said...Being a fellow Texan YES, the roads SUCK ****!!! (In some places) So choose the ride height of the spring carefully! I just went with the Tein 350z H-techs as it offer's a slight drop and it prevents me from bottoming out and all sorts of other problems. (I had a slammed Integra back in the day (1993) so I'm speaking from experience). As far as camber is concerned. It's subjective to how much the car's been dropped and vehicle. For example, most folks who have the same springs as I do don't experience camber issues. But for me I have camber issues. But i'll leave you do do your own independent research on that.

Hope some of my opinion helps ya out!

bout time you posted up...

if you're having a hard time deciding on wheels.. drop it and put some spacers on there for now, it'll make a big difference... 15mm front and 20mm back

dont get impatient and get wheels... get the ones YOU want..

I'll be down there next month; let me know what's up...
