Not your average newb with megapost and pics !

Whats up guys newb here so bear with me lol ..Names Chris .i recently bought a salvaged 04 g35 coupe . It has only 54000 miles and the motor and interior are mint exept for the driver seat airbag deployed . The exterior on the other hand needs some work to be modest lol .The drivers side door and quarter was crushed .The rest of the body has dings and scratches on just about every panel .The good thing there was no frame damage . Over the last few weeks iv been restoring her .So far iv bought a new door, seat, driver skirt and rear bumper .This is sort of a DIY i guess .Iv takin just about every part off this car so i can gladly help out anyone on how to remove things .Also if anyone needs any work done i do tons of stuff (body work, painting, mechanical, electrical, fiberglass etc). Now for the part youve been waiting for .Pics of the progress so far :

The car when first delivered :

All 4 rims were that bad . Last pic after being filled and painted

Now for fixing the quarter(the dirty work) .After tons of pulling and massaging and shrinking i got it close enough to weld in my patch pieces .After welding the welds were ground down and finish hammering and dollying to get it within a 1/8" off .Enough for filler to take care of the rest .(Red color is not rust loljust od'ed with the guide coat)

1 coat of fiberglass filler was applied over the welded area to prevent rust .Then 2 skim coats of filler over the whole repair area and blocked down .

.

After that a skim coat of spotlite glazing putty was applied to remove sand scratches . Forgot to take pic . lol .

Welding rear lip . After pulling out the quarter i was left with a gap in the fender well and a nice crease . The crease was cut out and a new piece of sheet metal was welded in .After welding the patch and grinding down tacks i straightend the metal and plug welded the fender lip closed with seam sealer in between .I then applied fiberglass to the area and also the interior of the quarter . Finally epoxy primer and undercoating to match the well .

.

the undercoating drys dull

I then sprayed some 2k primer over the whole quarter .This was all blocked off after .This was only done to check for low spot and any possible waves .

Prep and PAINT (the fun part)
The whole car was sanded up to 320 grit . Next it was masked off . I decided to open up the headlights and paint the housing and also the whole console .(might as well right lol ) .Oh what the hell ill just spray the grille and emblems too . lol. All plastic was sanded with 400 grit then sprayed in epoxy .Then wetsanded and sprayed again .No adhesion problems there EVER .

Here is what she will be dressed in !

The whole car sprayed in hok epoxy and wetanded

Its now ready for base coat mid coat and clear coat .So thats where im at . ill keep u updated .Ha .

Damn, good work! After all that trouble, I hope you go with a non-stock color.

Wow, Wow.... Excellent work!! you killed it on that rear 1/4 panel!... That looks GREAT!

Hard to tell from those pics but everything looks smooooth and the door jam area looks perfect!

Great job man and welcome to the site!... LOL I got a chip about 1/2" long out of the corner of a TS fiberglass front bumper and I am scared to even try to patch it up and paint match / blend it myself... Impressive.
