Painted Rims

The rims pictured have been painted by a previous owner. I love the look of them on my diamond graphite coupe. The problem is they get a white residue on them from water on the road. The only way I can keep them looking good is to spray amour all on them every 5 days…err. I know that sounds weird but get a nice in between flat and shine. The questions is can I repaint them to get that look or can I get some flat(er) clear coat to paint over….any suggestions would be appreciated.

i did mine myself..they came out great..key is to put on alot of clear..theres alot that can ruin a painted rim on the road, and they dont neccesarily need to be powdercoated to be done the right way. sand em down good get as much of the paint thats on there off.paint them the color you want using dupont wheel paint,id do about 4 coats..then use dupont clear for wheels..again 4 coats if not more..they should come out just fine..heres a pic of miine..hope this helps

They look great I love the flat black. I will try your technique. Thanks! Where did you pick up the Dupont Clear?
