Lightbulb Dual Ring Skyline Taillights

The driver side is complete. I'll finishing soldering the wires tomorrow morning for the passenger side.

For those who didn't see the previous thread, the extra ring is from 05 g35 sedan taillights. I also added LEDs in the side marker area.

I have LED 7440 bulbs with load resistors coming tomorrow, and I'll install those into the signal light area.

The extra ring functions similarly to the original ring and trapezoid LED area. On with parking lights, and brighter with brakes applied. The signal bulb will still be the 7440 setup. I don't have the electronic knowledge to wire LEDs to function as parking light, brake light, and signal light. Plus if they went out as the signal light, that would be trouble.

I kept the trapezoid LED array on, since if it were just two rings, it would look like the G35 sedan and new G37 sedan/coupes. This way, it's still obviously G35 coupe.

edit*** redoing pic hosting.

props: great job E_K, i love how fast you complete all your custom projects, excellent mod and you must be pumped to upgrade to the 06-07 tail design from your old ones

critiques: still a color difference (unless its just visible on the camera and not in real life?), and still not up to my personal requirements on controlling the brightness from side viewing angles (making it look 'stock')

requests: daytime up close pictures looking through the taillight at the new ring to see the architecture around it?

overall: BALLIN'!!!!!!!!!1

Points taken, and I agree, there is a slight color difference.

In terms of brightness, everything is about 99% consistent. Part of the difficulty with the camera, is that depending on the angle that you're facing the LEDs, some may appear to be brighter/dimmer. From a side view, this is most obvious, because the original LEDs don't face towards the side.

In terms of color, the new ring is about 90% match with the trapezoid LEDs and about 80% match with the main ring LEDs. I'm not sure why this is the case, since all of them are red OEM LEDs from Infiniti.

Finished the other side:

A closer view of the ring. I'll add more pics later.

These lights were my original lights. My car's an 06, so I was just running some spare 04 lights while I worked on the 06 lights.
