I painted it a week ago and I have not de-nibed it yet. If I had any runs I would have taken them out but just a couple nibs, they can wait.

I feel like im cheating when I spray something else lol. Imo I do think PPG/Auto Color is the best paint line. But thats for were, how, and what I paint. I have used other paint lines at other shops and they worked for them.

Every car i have painted i have always wanted to flat sand with 1000 and reclear. But you know how you want to get things back together. Are you going to flat sand and buff? Im sure you dont have much peal but there is always some, you know how it looks when sanded and buffed.

I have been thinking on after I repaint my car to give it quite a bit more time than I usually would. I wish I had access to a booth with baking options.

The next couple weekends I have things going on but after that im going to block sand and clear. It looks good now but if I wet sand with 1500 and then 2000 I know I will take half a coat off. I want more clear not less.

Some day ill do a black car.

Base black then wetsand with 800 then clear. Block with 1000 and work my way up to 2000. Im sure that would be as flat and as mirror like it gets.

A 97 240sx perhaps?

If you are going to reclear there is no need to sand with 2000. You could just knock some of the peal out with 2000 and buff. We had some shi% that was called tryzack (check spelling). It was 3000 wet on a da It would buff up so fast.

If you block your base it will come off. The best way for a straight black car that i like. Paint the car with a single stage black. That is a base and a clear mixed. Wait around a week for the paint to cure. Sand the car back down with 600 or 1000 and reclear. The black will be so deep and look sick.

I didnt mean block the black just the clear. I would just wet sand the black with a soft pad to eliminate the peel in the base. Then maybe finish it off with 1000 on a DA with a soft pad. Then clear

My last shop bought that 3000 Trizact also. I have like 5 sheets here and I grabbed some of the Trizact 800 too

Every year I take my vacation time to go to a custom paint school because my work does not pay for custom training Three years ago I went to a custom color school $250 per day for a week, last year three days at a custom airbrushing school $250 per day for three days, this year custom graphics $250 per day for three days. Plus food, gas, hotel, ect for each school. This month I have a custom airbrushing class im going to in CT $250 for one day, hotel the night befor, food, gas, day off from work. But you have to learn some how

If you want to be the best at somthing you cant hang out on the couch watching tv talking about it.
The thread is great and all, but you gained SO MUCH respect for that statement right there... That's why you WILL be the best one day.. Stay hungry my friend.. Great job by the way.
