JDM side markers + NiteShades?

How do you guys feel about this? At first I was just going to crack these open and paint the inside black, but then I found NiteShades and thought it gave a cleaner look. I don't like clear turns on a black G, and would almost rather have no side markers at all... I don't even want light shining through, this was probably the closest I could get. 2 coats niteshades, 1 coat clear. I think I'm going to remove the bulb as well.

This weekend I'll paint the grill, and leave the logo chrome.

Def need a black grill and why would you have bump corners if your trying to hide your markers?? Seems counterproductive.. Just a thought, but overall looks great! Are your tails tinted also?

if the no light look is what your going for then it looks good. however it seems counter-productive to just have them their for no reason. turn signal hookup maybe?

Haha yeah, I wanted the JDM markers, but then I didn't like how clear markers looked on my black G. So, I thought to just paint them and see how it felt. I could always use thinner to go back to clear if I wanted. Even though the bump is rendered useless at this point, I think I prefer this look. Maybe you're right in that the bump still makes it kinda stand out... I think I'll paint my OEMs and see how it looks without the bump as well.

My tails aren't tinted yet, I'm just waiting on Bat to respond to my email (I think he's out of town or something), ready to order and install these:

This is the end result I'm going for...

left to do:
nismo front, impul sides, ssr ms1 wheels, motordyne tdx v2 exhaust ...

I kinda like how the bump flares out.

I intentionally left out coil overs. I had Tein SS on my last car, and now have d-specs/H&R on my g. Why waste money on something that a) wouldnt provide any other benefit as far as appearance b) something i'd never adjust. my car is purely daily driver. the ride isn't any better/worse from my experience between the two either.

i guess that's to be expected when you buy a great spring/shock combo.

this thread is a little old, but i've grown to really like the bump. even though its been rendered useless in terms of effectiveness, it provides a little uniqueness to the look, very subtly. and i like subtle.

thanks for the comments, all.

everything
If youre gonna leave the emblem chrome paint the edges black, dont leave the whole emblem chrome, like the part that goes back into the grill, paint that black but leave the face chrome. Does that make sense? Ive seen guys whove color matched their emblems and did the whole thing, looks totally out of place unless you paint the sides black.

Yeah, i know what you mean, and that wouldn't be hard to do. I think saying it looks totally out of place depends on how close youre examining it, or how light is shining on it. most of the time, youre far away and shadow from the grill is casting down, giving it the same effect essentially. i'll eventually get around to snapping that emblem off and painting it, but the worth in my opinion isnt that high.

Yeah my bump corners have really grown on me. I like your tinted tails too, if you ever got those. And great exhaust choice!

You'll have to check your local laws because I know where i'm from, if there isn't an orange bulb where your clear corners are you can get a ticket for it.

Thanks man. The tint is sitting in my living room, will install this summer.

Regarding local law, I'm sure it's illegal, but so is my tiny and lack of front license haha

I dislike the quality of nightshades. The feel of it after its painted on to some headlights/taillights seem to be really rough - even after many coats and light sanding... if you used nightshades on a big area like your tail lights, i wouldve said "dont".... but since its on your corners (smaller surface area), eh what the hell...
