ConradoR's Progress Thread

Hey,

It's about time to share my build with you guys, as the G has gone thru many stages... but definitely not done! Far from done....

I want to thank my wallet, GreenGobblin, Tian, my fiance for not killing me as 1/3 of the things I say relate to cars (and getting me my Isothermal MD Spacers in '09), and all of the other members who have helped me during all of these years.

2006
I had a riced out Celica GTS at the time, which (literally) died at the drag strip against a 350Z. After getting it back from the shop, and having the engine rebuilt, sold it and decided I needed some of the same VQ35Powa that killed my beloved rice mobile.
Came home with an '04 TwilightBlue fully loaded Coupe, and had a permasmile for the next 90 days.

2007
Discovered G35Driver.com, and started to slowly learn about the mods available for the G. The initial intent was to keep it only subtle mods, and overall clean modding.. and it worked during the first years.

Oldest Pics I could find, at this time the only mod I had done was the nismo front

2008
Met some of the guys from SflGClub, and really started to get into the VQ platform.
However, as I was still a broke college student, started with small things such as debadge, black grill, modded headlights, system.

2009
Upgraded to the OEM 19s

Re-did the headlights

Did some interior work (EvoR titanium **** has since been changed to ARC Brush Titanium ****)

2010
Graduated college, and finally started to get paid grownup $$. This is where the real fun begins!

Time to redo the audio system

Before

During

After

Then I got into an accident. Got f by insurance, and had to pay outta pocket. Instead of bring it back to the old look, I decided it was time to take to the next level. Danny (GreenGobblin) helped me out a lot during this phase, and def. helped me keep the hole in my pocket a little smaller

Headlights:

Impul Sides

TS Hood

First day back

Revised Springs installed

Hr Y Pipe

2011
Now that the front was done, it was time to give the Gs fat *** some love

Improptu Photoshoot with Tian, one of my good buddies from Gdriver
20/25MM Spacers had been added.

With the body done, the OEM 19s weren't cutting it anymore
Volk SF Winnings, Custom Flat Black Lips

Good deal on craigslist= Out with the old style tails, and in with tinted 06+s

Time to drop it!

To completed the rear, the whale fin had to go, and it was time for a more updated look
Rare STRAFE lip spoiler getting molded. Another great job by Danny.

SflGClub BBQ

Needed better offsets, so for the 4th set: Volk GTS... the set I've wanted since I got the G... finally!

I haven't shown much of my performance stuff since that's not really a picture thing, but I got most of the NA bolt-ons done
Motordyne 5/16th IsoThermal Spacer
JWT Popcharger / Z Tube
JWT Stage 1 Racing Clutch / JWT Lightweight Flywheel
Motordyne ART Pipes / HR Y-Pipe
Stillen F&R Sways / BC Racing Coils / SPC Rear Camber Arms
Brembo Calipers / Project Mu Pads / Stoptech Premium Rotors / Rotora SS Brake Lines

Future Mods still for 2011
Clear TL Projector Lenses / Cut Off Mod / Add OEM Projector Lenses to Turn Signals
Debating about switching it up to non-tinted 06+ tails
HKS Exhaust
Spacers to get the GTS's to single digit offsets
Osiris Uprev Tune

Future Mods for 2012
Vortech - 3.12 Pulley

Updates:
HKS Exhaust - Page 2
Engine Bay Accents (Polished Parts/Bolts/Arc Cap) - Page 3-4
Wiretuck - Page 7
Vortech Supercharger - Page 7
Engine Powdercoated Strut bar/Polished Tanks/Finished Result - Page 11

Looking good there. I like the most recent set of wheels on there. It really adds to the car. Too much black mixed in with your TB makes everything kind of murky, IMO. With the current wheels, there is more definition.

Wow, what a transformation! I like the audio setup in the trunk. Clean and simple!!! Can still throw some groceries in there too.
Nice work!

Holy ****? I don't like the new paint to be 100% honest, but there is no denying that is a HAWT WHIP. Goin' hard man. Well done!

Thanks bud, my main intent was to be able to keep it functional, I still have full access to the spare tire

Thanks Hotel, I agree with you, I miss the mesh look, might be going back to it in my next wheel set.

Thanks! That pic was a photoshopped picture of my car.
I love the TB color too much to go custom color.
