first build thread ever...walking you through two g35s lots of PICS

Hey gang, been on the forums for a while, mostly reading and learning from others experiences. Finally decided to do a build thread and I'll start with my first G35...

brought her home when I was 16 (nope mommy and daddy didnt buy it for me, before any of those comments come up ) 40k miles, sport package with the brembos, in the picture below I've done tasteful mods, had wheels powder coated, clear corners, and eyelids. ended up grabing a ztube and custom fitting a k&n cone filter into the stock airbox and a kinetix intake manifold. Then i put a jwt clutch and flywheel kit in and tied it all up with an hks (knock off) exhaust.

then after a year and a half and 14k miles, tragedy struck ...got tboned by a lady in an SUV running a red light...well trying to..if only i hadn't been going when it was my turn

so i took my insurance check for 2k more than i payed for the car and went searching for a new G....then i found this one...red with aps twin turbo kit, hks rs coils and custom 3" exhaust already on it for 19k with 40k on the clock...but it was terribly slow, needed work, only ran 13.8 at the 1/4 mile. then started my personal mods to the car started with the bov, went with the classic hks sequential, grabbed some drilled/slotted rotors, and upgraded the radio to a double din i got it retuned from 350 whp to 420 whp and it seemed to be running like a champ, still having boost issues but hey, cant really complain about 420 whp on 7 psi. Then i upped the boost 2 lbs and blew the stock motor ( yeah i knew the limits, and was prepared to build a new motor in case it blew up)

I decided to do the build myself and it was successful!

now comes the goodies, after pulling my first motor ever, i discovered that the passenger side turbo was not bolted on...i guess all the nuts holding it on backed out...sooo i did my home work and ended up with

pauter rods
arias extreme duty pistons 9:1
arp main studs
arp l19 head studs
ferrea stock sized valves
brian crower dual valve springs and light weight retainers
acl main and rod bearings
crank polished and balanced
cosworth head gasket
tomei 264/264 cams
kinetix intake manifold
mishimoto racing thermostat
jwt light weight flywheel
stage 5 competition clutch
and a whole heep of new gaskets for turbos and engine
and topped it all off with a shiny nrg strut bar

Props for saying eff it & doing the work yourself. Did a motor rebuild on my last car but I had A LOT of help. Had a shop build the short block and had my buddies help me with the head, tranny, and turbo kit. No way i could've done it alone.

Yeah help is always nice, my best friend was building his 240sx at the same time so we double checked each others work...and kept company....because without someone to motivate you it feels like things are never going to be put back together! Hah and the shop that did my machine work gave me tips for organization and clearances for bearings and rings
