@Frankie: The accuair is going to end up costing $2500-3000 with bags and all I think.
@Shane: The akebonos are just painted with a G2 epoxy paint but it looks really even and glossy up close.
@Jersey: is it poly? Yeah it was a bit of a pain to fit but just take little bits off at a time and it'll turn out great!! I'm in for pics haha...

Oh, did you mean the gap between the bumper and fender? Yeah when I mocked it all up it was perfect, but the body shop replaced the screws that connect the bumper to the fender and had to use a female threaded insert with a flange that creates the gap

Did you just paint over the oem paint or did you sand it all off?

I painted them off the car after I sanded with 320 grit sandpaper just to rough it up slightly. The OEM "INFINITI" lettering was even still visible after sanding but the paint covered it up evenly. The only thing is that one box of G2 paint will be enough only if you paint the front half of each caliper and not the back. I painted everything that had silver paint on it already with two coats and it was enough.

Was it fairly easy though??? Are you impressed about it? I am debating painting mine from red to black.

Yeah it was really easy and they look brand new after a year. No chips and the brake dust doesn't seem to stick well to it so I hardly ever wipe them down. Be sure to buy actual paint brushes and not the foam pad to apply the paint. Not too course of bristles or the epoxy won't even out as well. Don't buy super cheap brushes or the bristles fall out and its a pain to fish them out and smooth over.

To each their own, I guess...lol

When you spend those big $$ on wheels why would you want to bring attention to your calipers? Focus should be on the wheels and why I painted SLICKS calipers twilight blue which is dark enough to make them invisible!

@ Ogee...car looks hot; always loved the red. I would like to change to accuair myself but it's too expensive.

I know what you mean Gary but my rims are reps (for now lol) and my brake setup cost more than my rims and tires combined haha. I guess I just like the big bold calipers and slotted rotor look @e_nigma: Thanks man!! Accuair e-level would be amazing but at quite the price unfortunately... Its either that or a Datsun 240z project car, which would be just another $$ bucket, but a very cool one at that. I'm a long way off from affording either so we'll see!!
