Been forever since I've posted. Got the car torn apart to replace the engine. Will do some engine bay cleanup, headers, and ART pipes while I'm at it. Can't afford to go all out, it's my DD so I've got to get him on the road asap. Figured I'd post for the hell if it thoughOgee's Progress Thread-img_0165.jpg

I'm replacing the engine because it's to the point where I go through 3 quarts of oil a week, and there is an overheating issue that might be head gasket related. At this point it's cheaper to replace the engine than chase down and fix the heating issue only to spend as much money on oil as I do gas haha. Oh man yeah those tires are shot!! I'm working on a custom carbon fiber wide body kit so I can straighten the camber out.

Hopefully you'll pick up a used motor that doesn't need much/any work on it.

I found a used one for $600 from a wrecking yard that was going out of business so they didn't have records of mileage but was able to get it for cheap. Through the VIN I can tell it's got about 130k miles ion it. So far I've replaced the water pump, timing chain guides, timing chain tensioner, timing chain sprocket, rocker cover gaskets, spark plugs, PCV valve, stuff like that. Also picked up some DC Sport headers, and Motordyne ART pipes. Swapping all of my polished parts over to it, and shaving and spraying the entire engine bay while the motor is out haha

Ogee, with 130K miles did you forget new oil rings? It could use more oil than your last engine...Gary

That shot almost doesn't look real. I just purchased a Range Rover HSE and after the holidays I'll be installing some mods on my G that are just sitting around the house. That shot would make a great screen saver.
