So.... I did a thing today
What do you get with a 10 yr old busted Honda Civic CF hood?
Diffuser! Not finished yet, still need to make the vanes for it, but this was a good start today. I bought this hood that had flown up and busted the ribs off (he forgot to latch the hood pins) 10 yrs ago for $20. I've been cutting it up making canards and emblems etc since then. But I finally found a real use for it, to replace the heavy grille I made last year, and give the rear end of the car some functional one-off flair.
Stay tuned for updates. I need to make a short road trip tomorrow, so if it survives the highway, I'll continue.

huh? I only had to go to Charleston for an appt.. few hrs there and back. no biggie. did it once to break in my clutch (250 round trip)
anyway, I pulled the diffuser the other day and re-made the attachment points. it looks very rough right now, bc it is. I'm forming the fins and working on that this week, then i'll be back filling the old hood pin holes with fiberglass, spraying the inside surface with undercoating paint to kill the sound of road rocks and sand clattering off it, and painting the underside. just the upper humps will stay cf.
after that is finished I'll move onto the front bumper and properly mounting it along with building an under tray for even more support. After I get the bumper securely mounted, I'm building a functional set of canards. Strong bumper mounting is key.. with canards providing downforce on a weak bumper it just pushes the bumper to the ground. I actually saw this happen on the hwy.. guys bumper was dragging in front of him and he ran completely over it
another update coming soon as I have not 1, but 2 new sets of Porsche 911 fitment wheels coming to start playing with. the twists are going down the road.. I do love them on the car though. i'll probably get another set someday, but they need to be the hi-dollar hollows next time. these Porsche adaptors are opening so many options for unique wheel choices.
making many plans for other little custom projects with the car. It's so fun blipping the throttle now, she's running great, and i'm just having fun driving it everywhere..

Got a new set of wheels today. Enkei Racing Line RC5 Porsche 993 fitment.
Going to need some different spacers for the rear. 18x8.5 and 18x10, they are hollow spoke and pretty light. great original 90s wheels in unrestored condition.
at the moment, the second set of wheels I mentioned has fallen through. it might happen yet, but I'm not holding my breath. They are super limited edition Gemballa Speedline Corse. He really wants my twists, but is backpedaling on the deal..no biggie.
