I would advise Castrol Syntec. Not that Mobil 1 isn't good enough, any synthetic is going to be better. But of the two, tests have shown Castrol lasts better. It's usually a couple bux cheaper too.
I don't know if they're still doing it, but Advanced was running a sale of 5 qt Castrol EDGE and a PureOne filter for $24.99

 

I agree with you on the Castrol. I was thinking to just stick with Mobil 1 since the most popular and readily available brand everywhere you turn and in every shop. But you're absolutely right...if I have to go out of my way for my G to get the best, I will. Good call.
