I use photobucket too and I think you can change your upload settings to ensure that the photo gets uploaded in the largest size possible. After you hit the green upload button, above the drop-down menu where you select the folder where you want to upload the pics to, there's a link that says "Customize your upload options". Click on that and I think you'll see that you've got the setting selected that resizes the pics to 320x240. You'll be able to choose a larger parameter for the resizing of the pics.
