def not. from the factory, everything matches perfectly. He had the nismo rear valence molded to the back bumper so it needed to be painted again so that's why the rear looks so off. I'm sure he had the nismo sides done too while everything else was painted as they look off as well. Front looks ok

+1. DP sedan w/ factory nismo kit here and anything flexible (sides/bumper, etc...) is a different color than the painted sheet metal.

I'll throw some pics up when I get a chance. In the sun, you can really tell.

alright guys so i got bored today and decided it was nice enough to start my projects. Here are the pictures and i wanted to paint the grill itself black and leave my mt fuji emblem chrome but the whole reason for painting it was because the emblem itself was peeling so i went all black. Went with 3 coats of primer 3 coats of satin black and 2 coats of clear. i'll post the final picture when everything finishes drying

Yes... the paint isnt exact, but all paint doesnt match on plastic compared to Metal... The car was involved in an accident so i had the rear Nismo kit molded to the bumper while the front was getting repaired. It doesnt look that bad in person, its just the way the sun was shining on the Plastic... if you look at the non-repaired side skirt, its the same tint as the rear bumper... Insurance didnt replace the side skirt so that's OEM Paint... I went to a very reputable body shop... So the color of Desert Platinum is the exact same as it left the Factory... Even the front bumper was painted the same time and it doesn't look off... Its the color and the sun and the plastic that plays in the variable of color... Janik i appreciate your input and please post up pics of your car!i dont rag on anyones car, so i would appreciate the same gesture!

color-matching is a very difficult thing when modifying non-typical parts... the side sills are easy because they are so low that its not noticeable... when you get up on the bumper, trunk, taillights, etc - shade variance becomes more apparent... without painting the entire car, its just the way it is.

My car has been painted in some areas that are more noticeable... as have some extremely high quality, highly modded cars out here (much more than any of our cars) - you will never find any that have zero paint variance - the only option is a complete paint job, the entire car - or of course be boring and change nothing on the car and have the entire thing look like 99% of all the other sedans.
