Gunmetal coupe 18's

Heres a few pics of one of the rims (sorry no pics mounted). Im going to be painting them black now instead. I like the gunmetal a lot, but after seeing them completed I now know black will match my IP sedan much better. I picked up the rims for around $200 on ebay. They were a little beat and so cheap I was willing to make an experiment out of them. Could have used one more coat of gunmetal but since I know im not keeping them like this for long I figured it was not worth my time. I used the duplicolor performance wheel paint and was very happy with it.

Looks like a good paint job. Well done.

Its all in how well you prep the base.

Post pics when you get them blacked out. If you plan on keeping them for the long haul, you might want to consider getting them powdercoated as it would be alot more durable than paint.

Thanks for the few compliments already.

G35 Papa I had a bad experiance with powder coating my RX-8 wheels. They came out awesome, but when I got the tires put on some of the powder coating cracked around the lip. I ended up painting the lip red like time attacks to hide the imperfections, but "I" (nobody else could) could still see them. I tried to find black, but nothing matched the powder coating. I figured painting them this way would allow me easy touch up whenever I want. Plus theres that whole warm and fuzzy feeling you get when you do something yourself.

As far as the gunmetal looking better. I do agree that on the 05 plus sedan IP and gunmetal is great looking, but my 04 has the black bottom and dark tints so I feel black will tie in better with the theme of the car. I might even paint the infiniti logos front and rear black to tie the car altogether nicely.
