G35 + Tree, My Visit to Humboldt Country

If anyone has been keeping up with west coast weather, today was one hellish day for us here in northern Cali. I took a trip from San Francisco to Eureka (about 270+ miles) and managed to take some beautiful shots. These were taken while it was raining and during brief moments when the clouds took a break. I was fairly impressed with some of the shots and hopefully you guys will enjoy them as well.

Cool shots, that shot under the tree is pretty unique. That road in the woods looks like a sweet place to shoot (and drive).

Yeah, I've never heard of or seen these "drive thru trees" anywhere else, but they are fairly common around Humboldt county. I must have seen at least three of them. The roads are amazing when dry and make for an enjoyable drive. The area itself is very "country" and quite a bit different from what I'm used to in major cities.

Haha, thats the point. Nothing else is exciting about Eureka except for maybe Katie Parry being there today if you're into that sorta thing.

Thanks, using a Pentax K110D DSLR. I've had the camera for more than a year but havent given it much use until now. The photos shown here are compressed and resized. I used the automatic mode, although I plan to experiment with manual adjustment which could yield some pretty impressive results.
