X on Z springs all around and staggered track wheels
So I lowered my X sedan. I know everyone knows what a sedan on Z suspension looks like. The idea of a z suspension on a sedan would be to lower it about an inch or so. The X sedan was always up in the air, people have stated 1.25.-1.75. I took measures while I did this so I guess people could use reference for it.
I’m a 2005 AWD sedan, loaded with everything. In the pictures I’m running 350z track wheels which are 18x8 +30 with 235/45/18 in the front and 18x8.8 +33 with 265/45/18.
Sadly I didn’t take pictures of stock fronts, but I measured everything out.
Stock rears looks like
Overall wheel gap is about 2 inches in the rear
from the ground to the fender 27.5 inches and from my center cap to the fender is 16.25 inches for the rears.
Overall wheel gap in the front is about 2.65
from the ground to the fender 28.1 inches and from my center cap to the fender is 17.0 inches for the fronts
Z on the left and stock X sedan on the right
So after everything is said and done, i have a little over an inch in the rear
from the ground to the fender 26.5 inches and from my center cap to the fender is 15.0 inches for the fronts. Which lowers me about an 1.0 inches in the rear.
Sadly I’m rubbing when I have more then 150lbs in the rear so I’m going to be putting g35c springs on the rears, will take measures when I get around to doing so.
Here are some other shots…. Its obvious to see my rear camber to say the least.
Oh and another small mod, I have weathertech rain visors, these are not the same as the JDM ones that riverside sells. The JDM ones are tapped or clipped on the actually outer trim of the door, my weathertechs sit in the window frame. Overall their nice, the glass bangs on the fronts once in a while, it came with the whole set front and rears but I only put on the fronts. The second picture if for anyone who is wondering what “bird’s eye maple” is.

fenders are not rolled at all. are yours rolled?
I should be putting the coupe springs in over this weekend and i'll see how the car is then. Ulimately i think rolling the fenders is what i'm going to end up doing, i wasn't going to do it at first because i called 2 shops and they told me $150-200 for the job. But recently i talked to someone who knew people at a shop who was able to get it done for $50-75

Maybe with different tire sizes it won't rub in the rear.
The coupe 19's with the stock tires do rub sometimes in the rear and Janik can probably attest to with the Z/G combo. Rear tire stock is 245/40/19. I put on 255/35/19 and there are ZERO rubbing issues even with a full car and big dips. It might not be a cheaper solution but it's an option.

Turtle looks really good I am jealous of the drop!
So you are running just rear wheel drive since you now have the staggerd setup? Did you pull the AWD fuse or leave it?
How is the ride?
I got my X from Luxury Motors as well, who's Gold Coast Location is now out of business it sucks beacause it was about 1 mile from my house now I have to go out to Lisle!
But why dont you loose the free advertisement?

As for the staggered setup. I have no problems with lights or AWD system. These tires might be staggered but they have the same rolling diameter, in a sense the only diffrence is weight and the amount of road contact i have.
If your interested in getting it lowered, you can always swing by my house

Lumpia, thanks for the price range. I thought $200 for the rears was a little 2 high, i know the kit to rent is $50 but i dont want to risk cracking the paint. I do 90% of the work on my car but some things i dont want to do.

blklude98, i haven't really looked into any tire combos with a rear sidewall of 35. remember i have a X and i have to match diameters of the wheels. 235/45 and 265/40 are almost perfectly matched with the stock 215/55

not my name, i have mines =)
i put on the sport coupe rears and the spring looks exactly the same as the revised Z rear. 2 red and 1 purple. The drop is exactly the same. i feel i wasted my 20 mins to swap out the exact same spring. 2005 touring z revised rear and 2006 sports coupe rear both have 2 red and 1 purple dot but it should be .5 diffrence on car. there was nothing... what gives...
