Did An Experimental Interior Mod
Ever since I got on this fourm, most sedan owners that don't do extreme interior modification, do roughly the same thing:
-auto/manual shift **** change
-Nismo pedal upgrade
-LED upgrade
-all weather mats
-tint
-air freshener
I dont know about you guys, but i spend a lot of time inside my car driving haha. And I'm the kind of guy that LOVES nice interiors, I'm going to admit that the stock sedan interior is nice but can be better. Im also a big sucker for wood trim.
Now I know that the stock wood trim is not really liked in the G35 community, but its appreciated by all people that try (at least i think)! So here is my attempt at a wooden dash trim kit that I purchased from www.carid.com. I ordered the "full kit," picked the color that i thought would work best, and about two weeks later i got it. I have to admit the fitment was really good and it took me about 1.5-2 hours to install all of it. I took some time to make sure it was on good and straight and heres the results:
to start off I LOVE how is looks and Im going to keep it for a while
now i want to show you guys whats up and give some ideas of your own.
Stock (im sure you guys all now how it looks but here it is anyway):

My wood trim kit installed 9/2/09:

PLEASE NOTE:
some areas i need to still touch up because I(me, myself) did a bad job. notice the dvd player lid. the top needs a little work but nothing major and a few other spots.
Alright guys, go ahead flame away...

Looks like the material they gave you is subtle enough, and seems a precise fitment as well. I understand what you mean, the interior isn't like the 07+ because if you compare an IS, TL, GS in its same year (2003-2006), its like the G was behind a bit. lol. But nevertheless, it looks good. Good work.
I would have probably done the middle dash, and center console, nothing else. But thats not going to happen anyway. Haha
