take a look at Tim's (ttrank) old nismo front. He did just that. He cut out the slats and put mesh behind it. He also cut out the license plate part to get more air into his intercooler

OOOOOOOHHHHHH yes. I like. Very much. Ideas are popping into my head now. I would probably paint the insides of my vents gm to match my lights. Thats the scheme I'm going with.
