Guys I hate to break it to you but these mufflers most probably diminish the performance of your NA G's. These ebay mufflers seem like some polished cheap stainless sheet metal which may look nice but in reality they may add backpressure which hampers performance, and on top of that, droning and resonances will be evident at certain RPM's. HKS aftermarket muffler and OEM Nissan muffler have gone through their research & development to maximize performance, yet meeting proper noise and reliability levels specifically to our cars and how our engines are tuned. I learned a lot from buying parts such as these mufflers off ebay, you get what you pay for. To each his own, I'm not an expert by any means, its just that you guys own a luxury sedan, don't be surprised that aftermarket parts for it are not at Civic price level.

Everyone knows that even with a full exhaust ( muffler, high flow cats, y pipe, mid pipe and headers ) AND A TUNE you will not see significant gains, you will be lucky to get 275whp from the exhaust and tune. With that being said many people buy exhausts or just mufflers strickly for sound. I am sure the OP's main intent is not to track the car and make it as fast as possible, rather to build the car to his personal taste. I think the OP just wanted a nice sounding muffler so instead of dropping a couple hundred on an HKS he bought this muffler because it sounded nice.

Sorry by resurrecting this thread, but maybe somebody can help me out with this decision. You guys chose these ebay universal mufflers and for $20 I just don't trust the build quality. HKS is a well known axle back for our sedans but its just too expensive. The only thing I hate about my 06 OE muffler are the tips and there's really nothing decent out there besides "Fat Boy" altima tips or weld on Borla Tips. I was about to pull the trigger on "fat boys" but the $60 price tag for the pair is crazy, I might as well pay a little more and get a decent universal axle back. Well I found this:

http://www.thmotorsports.com/megan_r.../i-291040.aspx

It looks almost like an HKS and its pretty cheap. Anybody have any experience with Megan universal axle-back? My exhaust is all stock and I have an 06 X. Thanks.

I love my Sebring muffler...not to be confused with the sebring exhaust on ebay. I paid 180 installed for it. Better than the HKS IMO.

I love my 20$ muffler. Recommend this for anyone that wants to stay away from the over priced hks.
