^I really don't see a reason not to shave them if you have the money to do so. I don't think they are very effective at preventing door dings.

But at the same time there so small is it worth it.and the doors are very thin u have to be real carefully or u will warp the **** out of it and then u will have to fill it with tons of bondo.

I was actually thinking about doing the color you're doing, but I decided I wouldn't because there's a 2nd gen sedan with it. I'm sticking with white even though another color would be a nice change, but I love white...it'll be an OEM color from another car but it'll have a lil somethin extra.

Can't wait to see how it comes out on the 1st gen sedan. It will look great for sure.

Thats why I didnt fill my holes when I did my color change. The heat from welding and grinding would reek havoc on that thin metal. Unless your the man with a welder and can defy the laws of heat transfer. I believe the moldings will save the door from a light hit and to me its not worth the risk.

What line of paint are you using? Are you a painter?
