It's shinier with more light, or in person, but yes, it is straight red. No orange (Chevy), yellow, white, or pink (Audi) is mixed in. I wasn't trying to do a crazy paint job that would be expensive to repair, or attract too much attention. Obviously I'll be getting a fair amount more though now.

My OB was really bad too. After seeing how easily swirls showed and how easily it got dirty (2-3 days max around here), I was ready to change out of black. Although I did really like the look of the car in black.

This was actually mostly through insurance. I don't know if it would have been cheaper if it was a private party job, but it was fairly expensive with insurance. I got two estimates, and both were right around the same amount.

paint looks good.
red is a color that is hard to pull off though. to me (my opinion) the car needs to be ***** to the walls moded to pull the color off. but if you plan to keep it the way it is then thats cool to cuz thats how you want it

Looks clean, no side moldings FTW! Are you going to paint your mirror bases? Why did you leave the license plate bracket on your front bumper? What does your trunk look like, debadged?

I'm stoked on te no side moldings. I think not having them on a red car looks good. iI is a little awkward looking for some colors IMO. I also had the spoiler removed and the holes shaved. The mirror bases are painted the same gloss black as the grill and the roof. If I would have know about the paper clamp clip on method, I would have had the plate holes shaved, but I found out about it too late. I need to keep my front plate on. As it is, the bracket was painted red.

Wheels will come at the same time as suspension. How has no-one mentioned the 4 x 4 status yet???

However, track wheels and tires will come before that, so full time wheels will be a ways off.

Haha right!? I'm only taking it autocrossing. Taking it to a big track is too much of a risk for crashing.

Thanks. I'm considering painting them.
