PIC REQUEST : G35 Sedan with 18" Lowered/Slammed
1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys,
I'm a long time reader (see registered date :icon17:) I have yet to find some G35 Sedan with 18" wheels that look great. I own a 2004 X and I'm thinking of going that route because roads are bad out these and it would probably be more comfortable running bigger rubber. My goal is to have something along 18x9.5 +15, does anyone has pictures of agressive (or not) 18" that actually look good on a sedan ? Also, will this setup (front/rear) need any body modifications ? I know everyone runs 19s, that is why I'm asking. I've found this, but I'm looking for other pictures if anyone's got some... Attachment 243319 |
On an X you wont be able to get low enough to make 18s look good. The only 2 Sedans that I can recall that have run a proper 18" setup are 4DGS and Gdup35sedan. Speedream just got a set of 18s as well haven't seen good pics of his setup yet though.

Even running coilovers would not make it look good ?

Someone with an X can explain better than I can but several Xs that go low have an issue with front transfer case/diff hitting the ground.

You picked the wrong car if your end goal is to be slammed. It can be done, but at great expense. |
What about this... I'm still in the dilemma of running the OEM 19" rays (found a set in silver and a polished set in my area) or go with 18".
Here are some 18" I kinda liked: http://i410.photobucket.com/albums/p...wd/outside.jpg http://i40.tinypic.com/2s62gcn.jpg https://g35driver.com/forums/attachm...35-lowered.jpg Question is... is it a really bad idea to go low with 18s instead of 19s (what's the clearance on these cars) ? I currently have a Miata on coilovers, so I know what low is. Just bought this G35 and thought about going for a more sporty or vip look and I hate wheelgap. |
I have an 04X as well and have been scouring the net looking for the right set-up... I do not have plans to lower the car, but have been looking at OEM 18's. Would love to see more pics of stock X's on 18/19's....

I suggest running some 20" wheels to make it seem like you're slammed

I've had both Sport 18's and 19's... The 19s look a lot better on our body style. The 18s look too small for the car. Just my 2 cents though!
I have some pics in my thread with both setups: https://g35driver.com/forums/media-s...on-thread.html |

^ really liked the drop on the H&R's! what was ur camber at when you got aligned?
|
thanks man! yeah i was pleasently suprised with the outcome on those springs.
i dont know exactly, my guess was around -3 to -3.5 i have never gotten it alligned. its first alignment(in my hands) will be when the fronts go on, on friday. i can post them this weekend! |
Got pictures of it from the side ?
Also, the 9.5+20 is it with or without the 15mm spacer (would make it +5) ? Looking very good ! |
