FX Wheels On My '06x

I know not everyone likes them because they think they weigh a million pounds, but they're actually not ~that~ bad. I weighed them on a bathroom scale with the original 265/60 18 Bridgestone (which is 38lbs. according to tirerack.com) and they came up at 65lbs. So, the wheel is roughly 27 lbs. Obviously, it's heavy, but not much heavier than a coupe 18 (around 25 lbs. according to the FAQ). I weighed one again with the new 235/45 18 General G-Max AS03 and it came in at 50 lbs. For comparison, the stock 17x7 with original 215/55 17 Bridgestone was 48 lbs. on the same scale - a gain of only 2 lbs. per corner. Not bad, IMO.

Anyway, I like the look of these - similar to original, but with the lug nuts hidden behind the cap. They also came with TPMS installed which was another bonus. I went with an OEM rim because the roads here suck and I wanted something tough - potholes, road salt, and plenty of other debris out there which would destroy a cheap aftermarket rim (and cheap was my budget LOL!). I'm only a teacher, and a homeowner, husband, and father of two, so money is not flying off the tree for a set of sick rims. In the end, I'm happy; the car handles better and still looks stockish. I might try to score a set of G coupe front springs/struts to lower the front and make the fender gap more even with the rear - maybe in the summer when I'm off and have nothing to do LOL. I'll post some more pics when I clean her up and it's daylight!

when are you going 4-wheeling? Lower it and it could look better.

Thanks! Most likely I'll do the coupe springs up front, I think they're rated for a 1" drop compared to the stock X springs. Not even sure if I'll change the rears - I'm always hauling stuff around for my house and kids so the extra clearance will help there. Plus, this is my DD, and I'll need clearance for the snow and bad weather so I really don't want to go too low.

I know, I've had all sorts of vehicles since I got my license 20 years ago...FWD Accord and Maxima, RWD Monte Carlos, Cutlass, a '96 Impala SS, and a 4WD Cherokee. My wife still has her 4WD Liberty, so its not like I'd be stuck anywhere. But God forbid, if my kids ever needed to get to a hospital or doctor in a bad storm before stuff was plowed, I want clearance. I'll go a little lower though.

A front lip and a mild drop will set it off nicely.

When I get some extra cash together I might spring for the Ionic lip, it looks really sick. The drop should be cheap, since I'm planning to find coupe front springs and struts to swap in.

Doesn't look bad and that weight is not too bad.

The tires really look like they are the wrong size though. Although by what you posted they're right.... weird.
