Finally Low: On 350z Suspension 350z Eibach pro-kit and Coupe 18s

Well...I thought I was selling the car but I found a 350z suspension set-up for CHEAP!

On my local site, I found a set of 350z shocks with 350z Eibach Pro-Kit Springs with ~15K on them. It was a customer take-off of a 350z they are building.

I did the rears first, which went smoothly, but the fronts were a different story...unbeknownst to me, the Z was running SS brake lines and had cut bolts for the brake lines so I had to cut off the bolts and drill through the struts, went to Lowe's and picked up 2 new bolts and Nylon threaded nuts. See below. I apologize for the horrible pics in advance:

My G front strut assembly removed

350z strut installed and UGH fail!

AFTER mod with new bolt:

FINISHED product:

I know the pictures are terrible, the car is dirty, etc. but I just could not wait! This is 5 minutes after completion. Yes, I live literally 5 minutes from my awesome Infiniti Dealership Glenn Infiniti!

Needs moar low.

Nah, just kidding. Drop looks good. Pretty even. Is the rear lower, though? Or is it the tire size that makes it look that way?

I'm not a huge fan of dumped cars. I'm happy with the drop I got from 350z Tein S.Techs.

LOL I was waiting for that response!

It is an even drop but the difference between 225 series up front and 245 series rear makes it look off. The rears are tucking tire but the fronts look less low bc of tire profile.

I like looking at dumped cars but NOT driving them!! I have to daily drive this thing!

I bet the Z stechs look lower than me, what struts are you running, have a pic?

Okay, I sort of thought that it looked like you had a taller tire in the rear.

I used to have my Maxima (nearly) dumped. I had it dropped 3.5" up front and 3" in the rear. I daily drove it, too, which was awful.

The Z S.Techs look decent:

The front looks high because I had skinny sidewalls on the car. It looks better now because I have slightly bigger sidewalls.

I'll have to get some better pictures now that the springs have settled. I'm currently running Stagg SHS struts for the 350z. I'm planning on switching to HP Blues or D-Specs next spring.

Looks good. I still have my 96 maxima. Its not as low as yours was but I consider it pretty low, eating my front axles! But its dropped 2.4 up front, 2.0 rear. Running S techs and KYB AGX 225/45 all around:

I went through several axles on mine. I had an '03, so the front wheel gap was awful. Also, finding 6MT axles was a nightmare. The GSP replacements I ordered from Advance would last three to four months at best.

That was its final incarnation before I sent it down the road.

You on the .org? I haven't been over there in a while, but I used to frequent the 5th Gen Forums a lot.

Like that look a lot, I know I've seen your car before! I'm on the .ORG my username is 96blackmaxSE I'm still frequently creeping around on there. I have to say it was a hard transition coming to this forum from spending 8+ years and countless hours on the .ORG lol.

I did polished my headlights tonight w plastX and cheap terry towels! In the process the painters tape pulled off a huge chunk of paint on my R side fender! Look at the paint WTF!!! I don't know how I even managed that! See pic:

I thought your car looked familiar. Or the setup with the rims did, anyway.

I used the same SN over there due to my lack of originality.

But I'm pretty sure I've seen you around on the .org. I used to spend most of my time in the ***** thread in the 5th gen forum. I've just kind of phased the .org out, even after three years, because it's starting to get overrun with younger owners with racerboy mentalities (e.g.: I don't know if you've come across a member that goes by Clashez? What a wreck...).

At any rate, the G is more fun. I miss my Max, but I think it's mainly the 6MT that I miss.

Edit: By the way, the picture above has me confused. I've never, ever seen painter's tape pull the paint off of a car before...
