Just another G35x...

So I sold this last January...

https://g35driver.com/forums/media-s...y-new-4x4.html

And since I've always wanted the upgraded "look" of the 05-06, I ended up getting this:

http://www.battleproject.com/forum/v....php?f=3&t=262

Advance notice:

This is a bit of a read and it's not really a "build" thread where I'll build the car ground up.
So this might not be your "thing". Haha

Okay since I sold this guy:

http://www.battleproject.com/forum/v....php?f=3&t=147

I'll re-introduce myself!

Hey I'm Ron (jeggo) and I've been "working" with this car now.

So I traded my 350z to a TSX and then traded with Kevin's G35x.

I got it last month bone stock:

Size: 110.9 KB

Things I wanted to do then:

Intake
Lower
Change rims
Plenum spacer
Debadge

Nothing major actually as I don't want to spend money I don't have. (I didn't have a job since I got the car).

So after I day I got these guys:

Name: null-1.jpg
Views: 91
Size: 98.0 KB
Stillen intake with Ztube

And done:

Name: null-2.jpg
Views: 59
Size: 102.5 KB

Then I wanted to debadge it.

Before:

Size: 73.1 KB

After:
Name: null-4.jpg
Views: 50
Size: 109.0 KB

Then I had 19" tsw sitting around that I was gonna put with the Z but I saw kris' Rotas and offered him a trade. And these are mine now:

Size: 59.1 KB
Name: null-6.jpg
Views: 60
Size: 120.9 KB

Which btw I still want to plasti dip purple. Haha (don't hate)

Then I wanted to install my springs (350z Megan's) but then this happened:

Name: null-7.jpg
Views: 38
Size: 75.2 KB

Another small thing:
Name: null-9.jpg
Views: 49
Size: 89.8 KB

Also changed my interior lights. Well most of them.

Then this guy arrived:

Name: null-10.jpg
Views: 44
Size: 81.7 KB
Copper MD plenum spacers. Still not installed.

When I went to banff I saw this guy posted a megan oe axle back for a cheap price so I got it on our way back to 780.

Sounds decent. Not ricey at all.

Not knowing and not researching before I got the megan and I haven't done any of these mod before I lost power on lower rpms which is not a big deal since its no race car. But you can definitely feel the difference after it was installed. Hoping I get some of the power back when I intsall the spacers though.

Then the day when I installed my springs:

Size: 113.4 KB
Megan's - 350z oem spring - and my G35x springs.

Rears was so easy and I was doing fine until I did the fronts:

Name: null-14.jpg
Views: 58
Size: 69.1 KB

This POS bolt won't budge:
Name: null-15.jpg
Views: 60
Size: 60.4 KB

Messaged everyone I knew (which is not a lot lol don't know anyone in this city) and Brad at Facebook. All of them told me to use a torch which of course I didn't have. Good thing someone came to the rescue haha

And done:

Name: null-16.jpg
Views: 67
Size: 137.6 KB
Name: null-17.jpg
Views: 52
Size: 132.1 KB

Desperately needed a fender roll for the rears. So I went to speedtech:

Name: null-19.jpg
Views: 69
Size: 95.0 KB

Still some part of the inner fender has paint chipped not a big deal.

So today I got Matt from Sherwood park dodge do my alignment. -3.3 camber for the rear and no more.

Since it was a beautiful day today I wanted to do more to the car. So instead of actually installing something that will help gain something to the car and install the spacers, I just plasti dipped my grill and the logo at the trunk haha

Name: null-20.jpg
Views: 69
Size: 82.7 KB
Name: null-21.jpg
Views: 61
Size: 123.7 KB

I'm not 100% liking it but I'll just leave it for now.

Sorry for the long read but it's been a fun and expensive month for me.

So after I install my plenum spacer I'm done for the year. I promised the GF I won't spend anything else to the car.
Although I might need to change my front wheel bearings within 2-3months.

Next year though is a different story. I plan to buy Coils to remove that awful "rake" look. That's the problem with G35 sedans after market springs. It won't give you a balance drop.

So the list for next year:

BC Coils
All proper suspension parts
Cf trunk (I'm already eying one now haha)
Mesh rims. Bbs hopefully haha

Anyways, thanks for reading!

I'll post proper pictures soon!

Sorry I kinda just copied and pasted what I posted on that site.

So no other plans this year for "mods". But I kinda want to change both my front bearings as I have a feeling it will go soonish. I just can't source a pair that won't cost me $300 each side. I also want to paint my rims purple hahayne next week.

Future plans, coils definitely for next season (or maybe bags, we'll see) and proper suspension parts.

I know what you are saying and I actually agree. It's just that I curbed one rim bad and the rears was used for drifting by the old owner thats why it's beat up and I was just thinking of plasti dipping them purple so I can remove them anyways haha

engine mods? I think I'm done with it and I don't think I can do anything more anyways? Unless I'm missing something? headers + exhaust I guess I missed eh?

Music you mean audio? hmmmmmmmmmm maybe next season. I kinda told the gf I'm done spending for the season and I sorta promised I'll take her for a vacation instead haha

I have no clue I work at PartSource and I can't even source it out anywhere? The cheapest I saw was at eBay and that's $200 plus $100 shipping each for the hub and bearing.

Any advice of where to get them?

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/121093603143?...84.m1423.l2649 Found a Canadian seller with free shipping for $75! It appears to only be the bearing but it's as cheap as I've ever seen for the X model. Is it really necessary to change the hub as well? It's usually only the bearings that actaully get worn out right?

My rear driver side bearing exploded recently so I had to get it replaced. Cost $565 to have it replaced at the local Active Green & Ross. It would've cost me over 2 grand to replace all 4 bearings along with new hubs. I instead bought the 3 bearings from the ebay seller previously linked and had them installed at a shop for $300. They reused the old hubs with no issues (took them all day to remove the bearings through since they were seized). She rides amazingly well now, no rumbling at all at highway speeds!

That's shitty for the price. I might just grab the one from ebay if I can't grab it elsewhere. I just wanted to grab the whole assembly as I wanted to do it myself. But since I can't fine them that's less than $300 each then I might just order the bearing online. With my discount here at work the bearing alone is still $150. haha Which is rediculous. I just know I need to do it soon as it's getting worse every week lol

Just a small update. I changed the rear springs from 350z Megans to OEM 350z rears and I painted my rims purple. Which is not of good quality as I didn't clear coat it. SO I need to redo it sometime soon I guess. "Stance" is better now as it looks like a balance drop now for fronts and back. Just looking to get 19"s so it will be perfect for my height. It will be harder to get rid of rims now as it's purple lol

http://www.flickr.com/photos/jeggo888/9382636710/

So that's how she sits for now. I just need to change the front bearing as it's ****ed already.

I applaud your audacity for going through with the purple rims! They don't look so bad but I'll never paint my rims that colour despite purple being my fave the colour. I strongly advise you to get the bearings done sooner rather than later, they're probably on the verge of blowing soon and once that happens you're pretty ****ed. Btw what size are your current rims? I thought they were 19 inches?

They're 18 x 9.5 and +20 all around with 235/40/18 tires. I like 18"s more as I feel 19"s are heavier PLUS tires are always so expensive with 19's. I don't know I was just bored and I wanted to paint them purple since I got them anyways lol to be honest I'm not 100% happy with it but meh, it's already done.

I will push to have the bearings done within couple weeks for sure as I really don't want to wait till I actually need to haha

Edit: Plus they're rota's lol I don't really care much.

no I don't. Unfortunately for that specific shade of purple they always come out black in pictures. I got some taken from my phone:
