I did some modding today and Time Attacked my OEM 18" powdercoated wheels using a red vinyl ring I purchased (for BMW CSL wheels)

How I did it
-Washed the rims
-Mixed up a spray bottle of water/soap solution...sprayed the outer lip of the rim
-Layed the vinyl ring onto the rim and moved it into place.
-The ring was about an inch too long for the rim. I got the ring into position and brought the extra to one spot on the rim. From there I cut the piece down the middle and overlapped the extra onto each other. Once it dried up a bit, I took a razor and did a straight cut in the middle of the two overlapping pieces and removed the extra.

This was my first time I've ever worked on an overlay. I could have done a better job getting the ring to the extreme edge of the lip but it was very easy to work with. If I decided this look is a keeper for me, ill probably wind up selling these and doing it all over again on a set of OEM coupe 19s.

Thanks Grant. I'm waiting on my friend to get his spacers in so he can give me mine back, then I'll have some pics up of them on the car.

I would but I never put the 19's on my car. They are just spares for if anything happens to my 20's or I sell them.

I remember when those came out. Quite a work of engineering but I would never own them.
