Am I missing something. I though that when you have Nav, you automatically get a back up camera, but it's missing from the trunk in the pic and there's clearly Nav on the interior shot. Sorry for a possible noob question, but I'm doing some research just in case I can swing getting a newer 2nd gen to replace my now totalled 1st gen.

 

For 07, the backup camera was only available on the "technology" package. NAvigation package did not come with backup cam.

That was fixed in 08. Backup cams are now included within the nav package.

If I am lucky enough to get into a 2nd gen, I'd be shooting for a fully loaded model w/ Tech so I should be safe. The only option that I'm not as concerned about is 4WAS, not that it's easy to point out if the car has it or not.

Do you have your strut tower brace on yst. If so how is the clearance with the new engine cover and also with the hood liner.
Pics of the brace and CF engine cover would be great.

I haven't installed the front strut tower bar yet, but will do it sometime this week, so look for me to post some new pics soon... I've already had several people ask about the fitment of the bar with the CF engine cover, so I will definitely check that out closely. Yeah, I ran into this when I started looking at G's. I actually found a used 2007 G35S with Premium, Nav, and only 1300 miles for $29K, but when I went to look at the car it didn't have the rear view camera or iPod interface. I quickly learned that in 2007 the rearview camera was part of the Tech Package and that the iPod interface wasn't offered on the car until 2008... so, I ended up buying a brand new 2008 G35S with Premium & Nav packages for $32K. Needless to say, I am very happy I spent the extra $$ and got the 2008... The iPod interface is worth the extra cash in and of itself, but I also use the back-up camera all the time... it's definitely a very overlooked feature. Good luck in your car search!

still waiting for cat back
