Love the GT30's. Are they 19's though? They look kinda small or my eyes are playing tricks.

They are 20's. Its the ones that you said I might need spacers, since the offsets are kinda weak in the front https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sed...-will-fit.html. Not too bad, works for me for now.

Just curious, but what are the offsets.

I'm running GT-30's as well; 20x9.5" +35mm (-10 mm spacers = +25mm) with 245/35R20's up front and 20x10.5" +37mm with 285/30R20's in the rear.

IIRC his specs are F 20x8.5 (+42et) R 20x9.5 (+37et). But he's at stock height though, so once he lowers his car, they will look really sunken.

Gotchya. Doesn't look too bad right now, but once it gets dropped spacers will definitely help! Based on these offsets, you'll probably want 20 or 25 mm up front and 5 - 10 mm in the rear.

I'm not a fan of just springs as I originally had that on my Accord to lower and hated the bouncy ride. I replaced it with a set ot Teins and fixed that... at a cost of $700. I imagint that cost goes up for the G coilovers. The $ difference between 20s and 22s was only about $200 and prevents me from having to stare at ugly wheel gap.

For those with just springs, how is the ride?? If its not bouncy then it opens up more options and convince myself to buy more wheels... afterall 19s were my original plan until I saw pics of Gs with 20s that had a gap

^ I'm on 370z springs, mild drop (about an inch) and the ride is like stock, not much of a difference. It's not all about wheel gap either. By lowering you give the car a much better stance so front and rear bumpers and side skirts are all lower to the ground. Not to mention the improved cornering and stability. Do a mild drop if you're weary of bad ride quality and wanting to keep it cheaper than coilovers.

Thanks for the input. I know ther are more benefits to a drop than wheel gap, but I filled most of my teens and 20s racking up speeding tickets, so if I'd like to continue driving my G its best that I not get back in the mindset of "I bet I can take this curve at 80".

Actually the 22s help keep me driving slower, since they (obviously) reduce my ability to test the limits of the car. Although you might be surprised how well this car still moves even with the big boys on there.... then again since you drive a G you probably can believe it!

The other issue is that this G is my daily driver, and in Chicago winters it can be a real pain having a slammed car. My Accord had adjustable coilovers so I could raise it a few inches to clear the snow.

Well you're not the only guy. I get that the majority of the guys (or girls) on this site consider themselves more racer than cruiser so 22s are beyond the norm. I've done my share of street racing when I drove an econobox, so I prefer to just cruise unless I need to.... and sometimes lay into the gas for fun.

Maybe too much wheels for you, but my car likes them just fine... no rubbing the fenders and not too much difference in driving dynamics. Its just two more inches than the many many many Gs on 20s here. I think people just hear 22 and think "ghetto". Meh...

i guess it all depends on the wheels!
i think you are right about the 22 and ghetto thing because i instantly see a donk haha
but i cant judge without seeing it! i do know my 20's sure weigh me down more than the stockers, i be the 22's are a little worse

I don't deny the 22s are heavy... not sure the exact weight but they were plenty heavy as I carried them up to my 3rd floor apartment! Oddly enough, my gas mileage isn't noticeably different. That's more of an indictment on the economy of the G than the weight of the rims
