Not sure about how much I have left on steering lock but these are 275 on 10.5 all the way around and I make complete u-turns at normal speeds no rub of any kind... I drive the same as I did before the rims and springs (other than bumps) hope that gives you enough insight...

 

 

Thanks. Looks good! As for my tire size choice I'll make myself a cardboard template and do some tests with one wheel bolted to the car. Hopefully I can run 275's and be part of the "Fat Tires" club.

 

Anyone running 19x10.5 +22 rear?

 

Well here's my new setup. Pretty much 100% function>form... but I think it looks quite good. With the horrible roads we have around here and considering my GF and I wanted to maintain as much comfort as possible but improve grip and sporty feeling, we kept the 18'' diameter.

Specs: 4 brand new KYB Excel-G shocks, Swift sport springs, 18x9.5 +45 Konig Zero-In wheels and 275-40-18 Bridgestone Potenza RE760 tires all around.

The comfort of the Swift springs is really good and I'm happy with the fat square setup. The only drawback would be that the steering pulls noticeably more on uneven roads and even if my calculations with templates made me think I would have enough room, turns out it rubs a tiny bit when turning at full lock. Nothing I can't live with and it'll probably stop touching with 1mm of tire wear.

I had been debating with myself for several months over what size tire to put on the 18x9.5" wheels I got for my wife's sedan and finally pulled the trigger on Monday. The two sizes I was looking at were 255/45/18 and 275/40/18 and since I wanted to have four matching tires I wanted to make sure I could fit everything before committing. I really wanted to go with the 275s to fill out and protect the rims better but I wasn't sure that they would fit in the front with the 38mm offset. Thanks to 240zGTR I had a pretty good idea they I could get it to work but since he was running 45mm offset wheels I had my doubts. My local Discount Tire was kind enough to mount up a 275 Hankook they had in stock on one pf my rims so I could test fit them before ordering my tires. I paid for the tire but no mounting or dismounting and when I brought it back the next day they gave me a full refund for it when I paid for my BFGs. Im not sure if all Discounts do this but I will definitely take advantage of this in the future when I am unsure of tire fitment.

The next challenge was picking a tire. I originally wanted some Dunlop DZ102s but they didnt get great reviews so then I changed my mind to the Bridgstone re760s. When I was ordering the tires the guy at DT asked if I had considered the BFG comp 2 a/s. They are a high performance all season and they got really good feedback everywhere I looked, plus they are 45k mile tires and much better in the rain.

Here it is, I have 370z springs/shocks on the front and 370z shocks/stock springs on back so it is about 3/4" lower in the front and stock rear




It needed to settle a little more in this picture so it looks a little higher than it is. I will get some better pictures tomorrow in the light.

What up guys been browsing this thread since I am planning on getting some Work T7Rs for my V36 sedan.
I want to go with these sizes and was wondering if I should go with a lower offset up front.
Front: 18 x 9.5 +38
Rear: 19 x 10.5 +32

 

The front offset is pretty conservative IMO, but the rear offset will be pretty close to flush. It really all depends on what tire size and how much negative camber you plan to run. Just to give you an example, before I widened my rear fenders I was running 20x9.5 +30 with 255/35R20's up front and 20x10.5 +37 with 275/30R20's in the rear. Front camber was just within specs at -1.7°, but rear camber was around -2.4°. I then increased the rear tires to a 285/30R20 and had to change the rear camber to -2.6° for clearance. I've since had my rear fenders widened about 1-1/4" (30mm), so I'm now running 305/30R20's in the rear with -1.5° camber and still have plenty of clearance. Now I'm looking to increase the width of my rear wheels to 11.5" or 12" and up to a 325/25R20.

Here is my baby on 19s...Ace Aspire wheels with general a/s 03 tires...live in Boise so went with all season for everyday driver...245/40/19 +35 front and 275/35/19 +40 rear
