Canon 50mm f1.4 prime

 

PS the shadows off your hood on #3 and I love that pic.

 

Nice, my next lens will either be the Nikon 50mm 1.4 or 1.8 prime (I've got a D40). Leaning towards the 1.4 though.

There has been some extensive talk about the extra $$$ of the 1.4 and its worthiness. Granted, I never owned a 1.8 nor did I shoot with one so I don't have first hand experience with it. But from what I've heard, the 1.4 handles flare much better and the build quality is tenfold over the 1.8. Ultimately you get what you pay for. I recommend the 1.4
